A lot of Steem's price has nothing to do with what happens on Steemit.com or even the Steem blockchain.
Correction: none of it has anything to do with steemit.com. At least not the content. The dumpers, sure.
Not like it had to be that way, though. A better Steemit might have encouraged some STEEM purchases and holding.
But this project is dead.
