Portfolio rebalancing: a current opportunity

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago (edited)

In my last article I talked of patience, opportunities, and briefly about portfolio re-balancing.
Today we will see a practical example of swapping a portion of your coin for another.

I'm bullish on both Ardor and Bitshares.

The first one being a very promising scalable blockchain-as-a-service platform, that even EOS can't concur with, due to the hard-to-get needed approval of holders for launching a new product on it.

The second being the fastest and most used decentralized exchange of the galaxy.

I'm not here to shill them. The main point is that I personally think/know they will both succeed.
Now let's take a look at their charts.

Nice pump BTS!

We can see the price being far away of the SMA-200 and the RSI being above 80. Those indicate the coin being overbought.

In the meantime, ARDR didn't see any major pump. Its price is above the SMA-30 that seems to act as a support, and the RSI above 50. Those indicate a bullish setup.

I've swapped a good percentage of my Bitshares to Ardor.

A good percentage doesn't mean I sold everything! I'd never do that, both these projects have my confidence, but on the short-term Ardor have more potential.

How much you should sell of one for another depend of your feeling, the liquidity of the markets, and what size of your portfolio this coin should represent.

Great post - I'm still bullish on BTS so am hodling quite a bit but I agree, Ardor is an intriguing one. I have to admit - I've been a bit disappointed by how low the volume still is post-launch but I think has it rises, it can only stabilize and go up to your point. Wait and see game for sure

I'm still bullish on BTS too, but it had to correct and it did.
We also need a clear bitcoin uptrend to get a real alts rally.

Agreed. I'd been hoping for the alts to start to separate themselves so separate relationships would start to form - e.g., EOS sell off/profit realizations leads to BTS/other alt pumps - but looks like overall alts still correlate to BTC in the end. Hopefully we'll continue to see some liquidity flowing into the market to help with all volumes this year

Ardor, I will definitely have a look at this ! Chart looks good but I definitely don't like that it is that much below the 200 SMA and that the volume is low. I would like to see an increase in the volume as an indicator for a nice pump.

Thank you for sharing this. Good stuff :)

P.S. Great disclamer :D

The price of Ardor is near the long-term support. It has a good risk/reward ratio.
Nice to see you on my blog 😀

Correct. R/W is very good :) Sure, I am glad you are posting ! Will keep an eye on your stuff :)

Nice post. Curious if you have a price target for BTS? 40-50c range is a level I'm watching. Currently acting as resistance and would like to see BTS trade through 50c.

I'm glad to read you have BTS in your portfolio. A good project with potential to have a real future. I know nothing about Ardor but it's interesting you are comparing it with EOS and saying it could be even better. It encourages me to look into this coin.

I have zero EOS and a lot of Ardor.
But both are very good projects.

Nice to see you on my blog 😀

I love your legal disclaimer. Where do you suggest you go to buy Ardor? Are you holding long-term?

Yes I am holding long term. I play my coins like a game of chess, where I rest, no stress 😎 (Fugees - Ready Or Not)

It is fully supported on Poloniex and Bittrex. Those two are running in an invasive and unstable crazy jurisdiction, but some people are fine with that.
You can find a list here and here

They did start the process to get listed on Binance and other exchanges.
HitBTC and AEX are mean to enable it again since a rather long moment.
Those are variables that may strengthen the future pump when they turn positive.

Dang I haven’t even thought of the fugees in a long time. Are they still together?

Nah, I think they broke more than 10 years ago

Really very informative and helpful post for all of us.
Thank you dear @toucancrypto

I must learn to read cryptography. This is very advanced for me. When I have a capital meeting I will join the world of investment again ..

The indicators I used are rapid and easy to learn. It take a little more time to get the feeling when interpreting the results.
I advice you babypips if you want to learn TA.

thanks friend for the council

Thanks for the predictions, 100% upvote from me! Steem on! Super newly traded Booleancoin is up 50% from ICO price since its launch on hotbit.io 4 days ago! Possibly something to take a look at too!

That's the kind of charts I like! Just bought me a bunch of them :-) Thnx for showing, Toucan. Now let's take a look at what this Ardor thingie is all about ;-)

nice work dude! it is a great proyection, after i watched the chart with the gann angles i would say it stills bullish for me.

Yes I'm still bullish for BTS on medium and long term.
On the short term Ardor have more grow possibilities, and today I can see it showing much more strength than bitshares.

Good read, maybe I should get some Ardor. But what should swap it for ETH, BTC, NEO or PKT... Probably NEO

I'd swap PKT for it, because although it could show some gains in the short term, it looks sketchy for the long term. By default I have no faith for all those kind of wannabe ETH tokens.

I dunno, In terms of long term pkt seems reasurring, but at the same I definitely see what you mean! Thanks.

I think BTS is a good coin and somewhat slept on at the moment. I'm just quietly filling my bags. The exchange is somewhat confusing though. I just transfer my BTC to blocktrades to purchase.

Do not be disappointed, wait till the end.

really informative post @toucancrypto. thanks for sharing

Solid moves! Bitshares gave me some solid gains.
