The concept: weekly I will randomly choose a cryptocurrency in range 6-200, in the coinmarketcap website ranking. It is the occasion for me and for you to discover a cryptocurrency that maybe you are not aware of. During the week I spend my time reading and learning about this crypto and I summarize the whole in a post. Hope it can be interesting and helpful. I will only talk about the technical aspect, never about the financial one. I will maintain my objectivity ( about informations from the company and internet) except in the conclusion where I will give you my opinion.
This week let's start with Neblio !

Short Presentation

Neblio would like to simplify the development and the deployment of DApp (distributed applications). In other words, the purpose is to create a work-space for companies to work on a secure peer-to-peer database.

" Some industries [...] are waiting for mature toolsets, developer ecosystems, and packaged platforms to easily develop and deploy new applications, or to move traditional applications off of legacy database architectures and on to a blockchain network." from the WhitePaper.

Neblio platform create a RESTful (Representational state transfer) APIs for different languages to allow developer to interact easily with the Neblio Blockchain Network.

Neblio use a PoS (proof-of-stake) consensus to validate blocks from the user stack. Staking is when you use the tokens in your wallet to validate transactions, hence keep the network much more secure. (If would like more details about consensus I can write a post about the different kinds of consensuses, their pros and cons...Tell me in comment.)

Technology Properties

An company for other companies:

They create interfaces for the development without need of blockchain and network knowledge. Neblio project focus also on the efficiency, discover the appropriate Neblio node to use for communication with the network to improve performance and availability.

Since it is hard to integrate blockchain technology in applications : difficulty integration maintenance, they want to facilitate the development and deployment of distributed applications on blockchain.

Security and Immutability:

As others decentralized network based on a blockchain datastructure database, the security is maintained by nodes. The PoS consensus works as long as there are a great number of nodes that stacks their tokens. The other commun advantage is the immutability of the blockchain ledger.

Scalability and Reliability:

The DApp nodes should have the possibility to interact to the closest or fastest node in the Neblio network. The scalability of their blockchain should improve the application performance.

The network is reliable, this means that whatever happens to a node ; this will not slow down or harm the network. They will manage in the event of the connected node is unavailable, lose this connectivity , disfunction to maintain reliability and availability.

Neblio RESTful API:

Neblio create a interface thinking with simplicity and utility. They make the interaction with the network and the blockchain transaction an abstraction that developer will not needs to care about. The RESTful APIs allow to work in different languages: Python, JS, C#, Obj-C, Java, Ruby, Go & PHP...

REpresentational State Transfer (REST) is an Client-server, statelessness architecture that defines a set of constraints and properties based on HTTP. This architecture provide interoperability between computer systems on the network (TCP/IP transfer).

The REST architectural style have different properties :

Performance (component interactions)
Scalability (different components)
Simplicity (uniform interface)
Modifiability (each components are modifiable)
Visibility (communication between components by service agents are visible)
Portability (listening and calling actions to work on data)
Reliability (resistant to failures)

Neblio have created a second version of the API that corresponds better to the requirements of users (from feedback).

On the other hand Neblio creates client services. Neblio entreprise customers can use a business consulting service for the development and the deployment of their DApps. Neblio services offer a plain support for companies with a configuration service, hosting options service.

Neblio proposes a private development network that is specific for each customers.

News and Futures

The network already existed before the ICO with ready available wallets. Currently the Web Wallet (Orion) and the API are available. After different updates and improvements, last versions seem to be ready to use and secure. Orion Web Wallet was finished at the end of February.

Conclusion

Neblio Blockchain would like to solve the accessibility for the business world. To produce a platform that allow developer to use the new P2P business model of internet easily, this company will solve a current problem today in the blockchain technology field. The team is small but skillful and some promises are already available.

My point of view:

Before writing this article I have already heard a little about Neblio. After a first reading of the project I thought that it was not a special project, that is, not a mind-blowing project ! , considering there already exist a lot of cryto projects that would like to create a generic work space for companies. But after several readings, I think now that Neblio could be consider as a crypto with potential. They are very aware of the facility and the simplicity of their interface. Even the team is small, it is skillfull.
Recently they have deployed the Orion Wallet and good documentation. If the project ends, it can compete with Ethereum and Neo smart contract DApps.
