Interesting, I have not been looking into dash at all. Dont like to speculate on alts, so I always kept everything in BTC.

Altcoin is a nice derogatory term Bitcoin fanboys came up with. 2nd Generation coins are running circles around the feeble capabilities of Bitcoin. It's shown a complete inability to keep up with innovation.
Yea I completely agree. It's just really hard to separate the good from the bad, unless you truly understand the concept. I got into btc completely clueless and have just kinda stayed there as it's familiar.
Up until now most alts has not had other uses than trading (for the most part) , which I'm not into.
Altcoins is a good description for most coins tho, as they bring absolutely nothing new to the table
