I have been teaching in a school and I have couple of students who are regularly betting and using cryptocurrency . In this money obsessed world where everything goes , dangers of this behaviour are overlooked . First of all I would like to say most of the money on the bitcoin exchange is corrupt money nobody knows where its coming from and where it is going . Engaging with bitcoin is like literally engaging with the devil . While there are positive aspects to cryptocurrency , but there is no accountability if somebody is misusing it .
There have been few studies which are showing that cryptocurrency are excaerbating Gambling disorder and bringing in deepression , anxiety and personality disorders .
I am excerpting from a study published in ADDICTION JOURNAL 2019 .
"Cryptocurrencies are emerging digital currencies that allow anonymity in accessing various risk-taking activities through the Internet (e.g., drugs, gambling).Trading cryptocurrencies is strongly associated with problem gambling severity . Trading in cryptocurrencies overlapped strongly with trading high-risk stocks. Moreover, gamblers who engaged in both forms of trading reported greater problem gambling and depression and anxiety symptoms .The present results suggest that trading cryptocurrencies may be appealing to gamblers that are exhibiting greater problem gambling severity."

I am seeing young minds who would have been engaged in brilliant academic pursuits just focussed on the crypto curves and not able to focus to truths about interconnecting web of life and importance of trees as sad truth of our modern society .
We have sent the society in a very wrong direction
We have to step in and make urgent steps about informing the dangers of unprohibited access to cryptocurrency and online gaming to children .
