Cryptopia Exchange Issues

in #cryptopia6 years ago (edited)

Many people have had issues, and continue to have issues regarding Cryptopia Exchange. Numerous Deposits have not been credited by Cryptopia and also people are unable to withdraw their balances. Their support has been overwhelmed by the huge increase of new users. Support tickets from the beginning of January regarding deposits still have not been answered.

My deposit was for PIRL. The blockchain shows the transaction as complete, yet Cryptopia does not show the transaction in my deposit history. I also send 3 other tiny deposits of PIRL 1 the same day, and 2 the following day, which their system did register. I was also able to withdraw that back to my wallet. Unfortunately, after 18 days I still do not have my coins, nor has my ticket been answered.

Curiously, my ticket was looked at, as it updated on the 26th however there was no actual response from support. Due to continued issues with this exchange I would caution all users to not use them at the moment if at all possible so they are able to catch up.

If you must use them I would recommenced these steps first and foremost. Always check their site to make sure their wallets are not in maintenance mode. This can be done by clicking on the coin info tab on their site. If the wallet for the coin you want to send is okay, second thing to make sure of is to look at their forums to see if many other users are experiencing issues with that coinm such as PAC, NEM, NEO, ZCash, etc.

If both of those check out, I would only send a small amount the first time to ensure that their system is actually registering the deposits.

You must make sure that however you are sending it there, it IS NOT a SMART CONTRACT. They do not support smart contracts and you will not get your coins. You will be forced to make a support ticket, and when they can get to it (a month or 2 later) they will charge 10% of the coins to recover it.

This also applies to any of the Privacy coins. Those all require the Payment ID. Without putting that it, the system has no way to know who's account to credit the deposit too. If you mess that up, 10% charge to recover.

So if you can make sure to be very careful and always check first, be wary that even if you can get it deposited, you may not be able to get it withdrawn. This is a huge problem with PAC right now and a few others.

Be careful as the process to have any recourse in New Zealand is long and you will be without your funds for a extended period of time.

Good Luck and hopefully they are able to get their system upgraded and all the bugs worked out soon.

P.S. Check their Reddit also before sending anything to see if problems are increasing, or being resolved.

If you are not signed up with them, and you would like to join them since they have more altcoins than most other exchanges. You can use my referral link which I would greatly appreciate.

Been worried even before about the security of the Cryptopia exchange and now, It has been hacked but CEO Michael Gan of kucoin did a really great decision on freezing the funds.
