After more than two years of restrictions and limitations, in many countries the covid measures are being ended. In Switzerland, next week the last measures will fall and we will be kind of free again. One of the things that I missed much during Covid was traveling. I know that Covid isn't over and in many countries there are still restrictions in place. However, if we make abstraction of that and if we could go wherever we want, what place would you like to visit most?

Nice post and awesome contest @liotes. It has been a bummer being restricted for so long. My wife and I are aching to go on another Eastern Caribbean cruise.

That sounds like a great plan. I went on a cruise as a child and it left me with tons of souvenirs.
I would Love to go to India. I have always wanted to visit but it has always been out of reach. Maybe one day.

While there are many places and things I would love to see, photograph, take video of, etc., that is not the question. To the question, "Where would you like to go most if covid restrictions and money weren't an issue?", I would have to say Siguatepeque in Honduras. This is the town my daughter and I visited with our church ten years ago (WOW! It's been that long!) and she ended up teaching in a school there for four years. I've only been there twice and most of the people I met are probably not there any more, but I still feel an affinity to the culture and the people there. While it may never happen (my wife is not necessarily fond of the idea), that is the place I would like to go.
That's very nice. I once spent several month in Spain and met some great people. I've always wanted to go back to see them again. People can be a really powerful link and I believe it's great to go back to see them again.

We have a plan to go South to the beach in the summer, as long as things stay good.
If money were no object though I would love to visit Japan or New Zealand.
Japan and New Zealand are also among the destinations I would like to see. The problem is that they are on the other side of the planet for me :-)

I would love to travel again, even to local places for now. Hopefully, travel restrictions would soon be abolished. I'm still waiting though.

Tough choice with so great places to potentially go, but i'll make an effort to decide.
One place I'd love to visit - New Orleans, Louisiana. Even though i live in the UK, I'm a huge Saints fan so obviously want to take in a game or two at the fabulous Superdome. But it's not just about the sport though, I love the food and want to taste the true cajun/creole flavours of the area. And, the music scene is very vibrant so i'd love to experience that too. Obviously i'd have to be there a few months to manage the football and Mardi Gras in the same visit, but thats not insurmountable if money isn't an issue is it.
New Orleans is a very interesting choice. I hope you will be able to manage to visit the place!

I would love to re-plan my Europe trip. Had planned a 3 week trip to Europe in April/May 2020 to visit London, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels, but had to cancel all my bookings when Covid came. Fortunately, most of the airlines and hotels understood the situation and offered full refunds at that time.
Yeah, the situation with airlines in Europe was ugly... It should get better if we don't go back into the craziness again... I was avoiding air flights for the same reason as you, cancellations, refunds, etc... It takes time, and you never know if you will travel or not...

Are we limited to choosing what is on Earth? I think my answer would be the moon or outer space in general. I know we are quite far from making that possible but I think Starlink is already working on it.
If it's on earth, I would probably say Europe because I haven't traveled much to that continent.

This post is confusing to me haha. I was about ready to write a whole big blog post about the answer, and then I saw people answering here :) So I guess a comment suffices?
The answer: I planned to move myself and the family to SE Asia in March 2020...we all know what happened.
We ended up in Mexico. Now, I'd love to visit Thailand again as I love the place, and the rest of South East Asia. Asia has always felt like home to me. But guess what? Mexico is starting to feel like that too! I really think we're in the best place we can be, at just the right time.
So yeah, now I will write a post about it hehehe.

My brother spent two years in this country and he just dreams to go back there. I have never been but if I trust my brother, it's really paradise on earth :-)

That's an interesting choice. You could work as English Teacher there. I have a lot of friends that went to study English in Malta. I prefered to go to UK ;-)
I hope I'd be in full "digital nomad" mode by then. In that case, I would still like to do a bit of part time English teaching as a way to earn beer money and to plug myself into the local community.
One place that I regret not visiting before they went nuts is Sankt Petersburg... Russia. Now it's out of the question, obviously.
