Of course, if it's just a link to your Actifit report card with no text, that may not be interesting enough to get an upvote.
I've seen lots of short-form posts coming from ListNerds. As you've mentioned, this isn't the greatest tactic, not only from a ListNerds perspective, but the Hive community too.
In general, a post under 350 words isn't bound to get attention. Unless it's art or photography, then less words can work.
I'm going to be doing a first weeks impressions on ListNerds soon, where I'll mention this.
Great insights and thanks for the update on the voting system 😊
I agree, I think it's cool for people to be active and post their Actifit cards, but I just mention this because the votes from the top 50 will have much more influence and if they see dozens of Actifit posts with no content, it may at best get no vote, at worst a downvote (with up to 10 power). I agree 100% with the exceptions of art or photography. It's great to see creativity on hive.
I look forward to seeing your first weeks impressions post. We can get better as a community by sharing what works and what doesn't.
There's nothing wrong with actifit posts IF they add some content to it. I'm never a fan of it though, I rarely see an actifit post worth reading. They look horrible overall and to me they are lazy content, even though they promote being active.
There's also a difference if people are ONLY promoting actifit posts or have longer good / valuable content to go with it as a second email. If all is short term, at some point I won't even read it anymore. Which is a loss IMO because I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one.
Yes, I agree with you. Some very good points and I hope we can all up our game with producing some good readable content.
I totally agree, and honestly, I will never upvote it. This is just hive etiquette and there is plenty of good content to upvote.
These short-form content may work for a little while but won't get you anywhere long-term as people will at some point ignore all your content :)
