trip to the "Paramo la culata"

in #culture6 years ago

This weekend we decided to go camping, along with my brothers @ferramses, friends @lissalas, we decided to camp in the wasteland north of the city of Merida, Venezuela. At an altitude of 4,173 meters above sea level, Páramo La Culata is one of the highest Andean páramos in Venezuela.

When we reached the entrance to the stock we started to walk for about 2 hours until we reached the area where we decided to camp, the path we traveled was dominated by savannahs, creeping vegetation and frailejones. Upon arrival we set up the tent, and enjoyed nature, enjoyed the river, and the weather that thank God that weekend was sunny, we were distracted by a game called ONE, we shared with animals and we forgot all our problems, we de-stress and it's best to leave our day to day for a while.

At nightfall the weather got very cold, as we did not have a bonfire we were inside the tent, sheltered and talking, that night the sky was clear and we were able to enjoy a very beautiful full moon.

The next day and picking up and returning to the entrance of the stocks, we realized that there was no transport to go to the city center, so we had to walk, we were walking almost three hours to get to the nearest city, while I walked on the road.

The road was celebrating the feast of "SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR", the patron of the peasants who sing: San Isidro Labrador takes out the water and puts on the sun. San Isidro Labrador is par excellence the landlord of the peasants. This celebration is very common in the states of Mérida, Trujillo, Portuguesa, Falcón, Miranda and Monagas. On May 15, the day and festival of San Isidro Labrador.
The farmers of Timotes, in the state of Merida, dress their oxen with ornaments of fruits and products of the earth, as well as beautiful garlands of flowers to receive the blessing after the Mass in honor of San Isidro Labrador and go out in procession with the yokes of his faithful companions of the day.
