Very interesting post. Seemed like you had a peaceful day to your inner self. I was born Buddhist but i hardly visit the temples. I hardly pray nor know the words to them by heart. I was taught to believe that my parents are the biggest and most holy Buddha to warship. That is what keeps me going today and toward.
On the other note. In Thailand we have Buddha positioned according to the day of the week. Starting from Sunday. So if you pray and give merit according to the Buddha positioned of your birth, more holiness will come to you.
