I agree with everything you write here, also it's so good to see how @acidyo reacts. I feel that indeed the author rewards compared to curation rewards is off balance. Let's compare two scenario's where you only have 50 SP:
- You make one worthless post every day, and boost it with some boosting services that were designed to help minnows
- You spend every day searching and reading posts to select the best 10 undervalued posts you can find and give them a 100% vote
Scenario 2 would add far more to the value of Steem as a platform, but Scenario 1 pays out 10 times more.
At the moment, bad behavior is rewarded, so that's exactly what we'll get. Whatever behavior is rewarded in the short term, that is exactly the behavior that we will see, it's only human nature. It seems that curation at the moment is only effective and rewarding for accounts that already have very large amounts of SP...
