It's the same anywhere. You think your tender souls get the same attention on Facebook as Justin Bieber? No chance, only a few of your friends will see it. At least in Steemit if you grow an audience you have a real chance. Remember, everyone that's on Trending page today were newbies. They worked hard and grew their base of followers. Anyone can do it, but it won't come free. There's no free money, you work for it.

Not sure if you are calling me a tender soul? I am not a tender soul, more of a warrior. I was referring to my friends as being tender souls, I dont think they would like to work this hard in posting and trying to work hard at creating their followers.
I also think that it may have been alot easier for the earlier founders of steem, there was not as many people and so their posts where seen by most everyone, now its easier for people to not even be seen or discovered like the founding steemians. So I feel it is more of a struggle for new members than it was in the past. But I am just a new minnow I am trying to figure out how this place works.
I also see alot of people who have posted amazing writings with certain tags and have no votes. Someone posted something yesteday that had me all in a panic that after 30 days if you dont have 50 steem in your account you are out and cannot post any longer. I have been trying to figure out how to get more steem before I get kicked out of the club
I was referring to your friends as you did. That's up to them really, it depends on how much you a) love writing and b) love money.
Yes, it was of course easier for the early adopters. But that's true of anything really.
I don't know where you read that but that's complete nonsense. You need only 1 Steem Power to have enough bandwidth to post.
It was some big thing going on the other day, new members where all in a panic, including me :)
I love this place so far,the money would be fun, but finding new friends and learning is top of my list, because facecrack is a big fat disgrace of a place!
