I did see the same thing you saw about the payout, but why not make it impossible to up-vote after that time-frame?
Or have some different type of payout system after 7 days. IDK...I'm not trying to bash the system, I just honestly don't get what happens after it "locks" down the payout.

I agree. Cause you never know what's going to take off later. I think it'd be heartbreaking to see a post you made forever ago explode. If it was recent it would've made tons.
As far as bashing the system, we are their users, so part of their goals should be to listen to our feedback. If we have a problem I would say we should be open to discuss it. It's only fair to everyone that we have constant and open communication about problems with Steemit. Otherwise, what'll happen when we leave beta? The general public isn't as forgiving as us crypto nerds are, so we should capitalize on our opportunity now.
