Leave Me Alone by @mo-nique makes spectacular use of juxtaposition to communicate the absurdity of emotion, with a velvet hammer ending.
The desk calendar sat in the office stuck on November 21, and it did not move. The lights never came on. It felt that its life was wasting away.
Desk Calendar is a piece of flash fiction about inanimate objects and the tale they leave untold.
T’was not in the space between waking and dreaming,
Nor the exhale before the great beyond,
But on a jaunt through the country when my vision blurred.
Grave choices stretched on and on.
Desolation and Promise by @katrina-ariel also makes fabulous use of juxtaposition as the speaker is caught between two choices.
