in #curation5 years ago

Welcome to The Daily Sneak!!!

We reward quality content, AND content curators! Come for the crypto, stay for the community!

You can win up to 5 SBI per accepted submission for guest curating The Daily Sneak. Submission requirements are published at the bottom of each edition of The Daily Sneak.

This curation contest is no resteem, no upvote, no follow required.

Today's guest curator is @paradigmprospect.

Sometimes we need reminders, sometimes we need affirmations for the path we find ourselves on, and other times we are just looking for people who have turned their skills into timeless works of art and inspiration to help us to create our own.

In the spirit of discovery and rediscovery it is @paradigmprospect's pleasure to share the work of these 5 Steemians with you all today to spark some new considerations, learn something or just to enjoy some new perspectives on life.

The Sneaked Selections

If You Could Travel Back in Time, What Would You Do?

One of those things we all have wondered about as human beings living in an apparent time continuum... If we could travel back in time, what would we do?

True to his username, @evernoticethat has shared a post with us that does not only come as a well-needed detour from the omnipresent obsessions with the current state of affairs but it carries with it some refreshing notions and philosophical ponderings that can help us realize that everything is as it should be and that some things might turn out utterly boring and uneventful had we known in advance. Sure a time-traveller with foreknowledge could achieve all sorts of things, but wouldn't that take the whole fun, excitement and drama out of life a bit too much to still be enjoyable?

The Power of Women

We live in times where a lot of people are demanding ""equality"" for men and women. And while that notion certainly is admirable at first glance there might be some huge problems with that sentiment as soon as it starts overriding our natural differences and qualities that make up both sides of the coin of the human race - men and women.

In an effort to remind us of the value of having two genders that complement each other this article by @balticbadger can not only start some well-needed discussions around this somewhat controversial topic but also help us realize that a clandestine agenda in the background is doing its best to position men and women in a way that they fight each other endlessly. Maybe it's time we united in our differences and cherish each other for our qualities, all of which are certainly needed and essential.

Hermaphrodite cannabis plants: What are they?

And just to keep the balance, certain purposeful imbalances of males and females can sometimes actually be desireable - not so much in human populations but certainly in Cannabis plants for example. If you have always wondered about why stoners endlessly go on about female canna plants and why the male specimen are not seldomly outright killed off before being able to ""do their thing"" this article probably is for you.

Includes pictures and easy-to-understand explanations as well, a great introduction to the topic @gingerninja

Who's Up For a Meat-Fest, Butchery and The Energies Thereof? Yum Yum Steak?? Let's go then...

A highly spirited article that points us to the question whether we are actually aware of what we are doing on a daily basis. Well, are we?

There have been good points on both sides of the argument for and against eating animals, but in the end we still have to ponder the question how we are meeting the ethical question in our minds when we do. Do we take responsibility for our choice? Are we actually aware of what that choice entails? And would we behave any differently if we had to take the life of a living being ourselves in order to nourish our own?

A mightily inspiring and non-judgmental article by the lovely @barge that shares not only some really fundamental questions but also offers two documentaries that might make us painfully aware of how far-reaching our daily choices can be...

Eleven years without Heath Ledger, my drawing in homage

It's been a while since I featured the breathtaking work of @miyata1987 and when I stumbled upon his latest marvellous piece I noticed that there are still way too few upvotes on his awesome work.

Come check out his amazing creations and follow for more celebs drawn in incredible detail if you dig this one!

Conclusion

Amazing commentary and selections from @paradigmprospect. For submitting these excellent articles and commentary, @paradigmprospect earns 5 SBI.

Each of these highlighted articles receives full upvotes and resteems from @thedailysneak, along with beneficiary rewards from this post. Submission Requirements

On to the submission requirements for The Daily Sneak:

  1. You can choose from 2 to 5 articles for your entry. Submissions with only one selected article will be ignored.
  2. All articles chosen for curation need to have been published within the last 5 days before your entry. It may take time for me to publish your curation, and curated articles need to be within the reward window when your submission is published.
  3. You cannot submit your own post for curation. Selections from nsfw will not be accepted. We also check for plagiarism and only highlight original content.
  4. Selected posts should have less than $50 in total rewards and have not previously been curated by The Daily Sneak.
  5. We try to spread the love around, so while selections from authors that have been highlighted before are welcome, they might not be included if the author's last inclusion was recent. Similarly, if you include two articles from the same author in one submission, we will typically highlight only one of the two.
  6. Be sure to include your personal bio for me to introduce you to readers, and make sure that each selection has commentary. This can be just a few sentences about why you think the selection is worth our attention, or what is great about it - something that will make people want to click through the headline and check out the actual article. English is preferred, but other languages will be considered as long as English translation is included.
  7. Please use this web form to submit your entry. https://goo.gl/forms/VH2MGIMEgqZmd9ef1
  8. Including image links to the source article is not required (and we prefer to leave some mystery if photography is highlighted and the article has only one photo.) However, we like to include images in The Daily Sneak, and not including any image links may decrease the likelihood of your submissions being published.

If you include more than 2 articles in your submission and not all are approved for publication, your submission may still be published into an edition of The Daily Sneak, as long as at least 2 articles are approved. This could happen for several different reasons. If you are unsure why an article was cut, please review the submission guidelines again. If you are still unsure, feel free to ask politely why it was cut.

Submission Reward

A brief biography of each guest curator will be included in the edition that uses their submission. In addition, each guest curator will receive 1 SBI for each article from their submission that is highlighted in The Daily Sneak. That's up to 5 SBI for each accepted submission!

With Steem Basic Income now upvoting comments for members that have not posted within the last 7 days, and SBI having proven to be a great value proposition, we are shifting to begin rewarding authors with SBI instead of SBD. This will help The Daily Sneak continue in its mission to discover and reward quality content creators and curators.
