RE: Curie Weekly Update (25th February 2018 to 4th March 2018)

in #curie6 years ago

A humble proposal (or perhaps this is actually a question. Or hell, maybe this is even an offer of assistance/support):

Can we, (or maybe how can we go about) creating a sub-community dedicated to curating top notch fiction (short stories, flash fiction, genre fiction, etc) writing here on SteemIt?

There are millions of blog spaces out there on the Interwebs where top notch fiction writers are producing some excellent literature. I think it would be a smart move to create a space here in Steemit that values top notch fiction, a literary wing of SteemIt if you will. If SteemIt can create some space here for fiction writers, I think we can get more and more of these folks to post here exclusively making SteemIt a new, upcoming place to read the best fiction around. A specific sub group curating this type of content would be an excellent way to raise the fiction profile here and draw in more writing talent.

SteemIt Short Fiction...sounds pretty awesome to me. My humble thoughts on a Sunday afternoon :)

Love Curie, want to see it be the trick here on SteemIt that elevates the platform to the next level. The only thing that matters for the long term success of SteemIt is the quality of the content. You can package a turd 5 million different ways and it will still be a turd. You pay to have a turd upvoted all day long....it's still a turd. Quality content, Curie "gets it".

Many Curie curators already keep an eye on fiction category posts, and many brilliant fiction works get rewarded. Also there is Writers' Block, which started out as fiction-workshop, is a huge group where many fiction writers found home. Visit @thewriterblock blog and their discord as well. Some Curie curators are members there as well. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks @geekgirl! In fact I have a tab open for @thewriterblock, just haven't dug too deep as of yet, will get to this soon.

you're right.you have the point.

@isleofwrite is another awesome writer's group here, that I personally find more attractive than Writer's Block for reasons I won't go into here. That is my personal opinion, not a Curie position.

Very nice, thanks @carlgnash, this is the first I've heard of @isleofwrite...I will investigate pronto.
