Earlier we talked about Current, it’s distinguishing features and utility of the CRNC token. We are going to expand on that by going over the potential of Current and look at the market Current is trying to grab a share on, the hype of the product so far and a look at it’s iOS app.
Paid content is increasingly gaining momentum. However, the monetisation of online media is largely dependent on advertisements. With not enough willingness to pay for digital content from consumers unless it’s of a very high quality and popularity, ad-based distribution models will remain important in the next decade. The problem is built up by the digital adverting ecosystem being complex and involving numerous stakeholders. There are various intermediaries between the creator and the potential advertiser leading to the piece of the monetisation cake for the initial creator becoming smaller with every additional party involved. Current aims to prevent that and brings together a product with a good user base with a working product and global exposure using social media platforms.

Twitter
7k+ followers suggests Twitter following is high for an ICO but has to go even higher to reach the potential of Current

Telegram
Current has a lot of hype in Telegram — the mainstream social media for crypto enthusiasts. With 100k limit reached, Current has formed another group which itself has 20k+ members. The hype rating in telegram is out of charts for Current.
YouTube
Current’s YouTube channel is not as popular as it’s telegram, but still growing with 600+ subscribers. As time goes, we shall see more interaction in YouTube and Twitter from Current to expand their reach and awareness.
iOS App
Now not many reviewers actually try out the product of an ICO but instead list a introduction on Current, it’s ICO details and move on. So I thought I’ll try the product for a change and was pleasantly surprised and how good it is! I have attached my screenshots of my user experience.
There are 5 navigation menus:
For You: This is your homepage where you can check out radio stations recommended for you, latest trending artists and videos. It’s a decent homepage to have which follows a similar structure to Spotify
Search: As it says in the label, you can find channels within Current based on YouTube, Spotify and Radio channels.
Create: You can create your own homepage if you want to focus on 2–3 channels only such as YouTube and Spotify. I found the experience seamless to use.
Updates: I believe this will show all updates to to the Channels but as I just installed it, didn’t have any to show you until someone posts an update.
Library: This is similar to YouTube where you can see your history of channels, playlists, songs and videos watched. Nothing unique but it was fast to use without lag or bugs.
The app was easy to use, quick to go over each navigation and load videos or listen to music — so they have a great working product and I can see why it has such positive ratings. Getting greater exposure and higher userbase will be key.
