Sound familiar? That's the newspaper headline Satoshi Nakamoto encoded into the genesis block. This small statement demonstrates the cypherpunk'd genius of Nakomato. With these 11 words, Satoshi let the world know that bitcoin wasn't premined and that an alternative to fractional reserve banking had been born.
In the spirit of newspaper headlines, here's a shot I took this morning from the Centurion Lounge at Philadelphia International Airport:
The picture shows my Amex Platinum credit card, which grants me access to the luxurious Centurion Lounge where I'm writing this post from. Beneath the card is a 07/Feb/2018 New York Times National Edition. The headline reads "The World is Bracing as Era Of Easy Money Is Ending".
One wonders, now 9 years after Bitcoin was born, whether today's headlines mark the beginning of the next stage of Satoshi's vision. However, until then, I'll continue collecting the easy money available from churning credit cards.
