**Dad Tip of the Day - Make a checklist for everything when it comes to your kids.
**
I seem to always forget something important when I leave the house with a kid(s). Thankfully, my wife normally keeps the "list" (I think it is in her head, but who knows - women!), but her experience is beyond mine so she doesn't forget things like I do.
Take for example, the day we went to the theme park and I loaded Jacob into the car but forgot to put on his sandals (it was going to be a hot day). We had already paid to park before we realized there were no shoes, so we had to run (quite literally) to a store about a mile away. but they only had pink sandals in Jacob's size - the result was that Jacob had to wear pink sandals for the day... sorry Jacob, and I hope your future girlfriends will not make fun of you for this!

Whether it is the all-important blankie or stuffed animal, I somehow forget the vital things when leaving the house... sometimes even the diaper backpack!
I have come to the conclusion that I now need a "leaving the house" checklist. What is funny is that I have created such a checklist for other important things - like kayak fishing! There is nothing worse than driving an hour to launch your kayak at the perfect spot, only to realize you forgot your paddles!

Good luck out there Dads, and make some checklists!

This mom keeps her entire life organized on google slides. Right on the phone. Modern mommas. Good job to all the dads out there, like you, being dads. You remembered the important thing, to be there. Blessings.
I've always utilized my memory instead of making lists. However, over the last few years and now 2 children I have found checklists extremely handy..
Great post!
I'm with you, when it comes to family life clear organization, routine, and expectations is the key to success. All good things flow from that.

I'm a relatively new parent and I'm not a list maker... and yes, running around to find last minute shoes sounds like 99% family trips. As long as you have enough diapers though... everything else is optional ;)
Wow ! Informative !! As a dad of 3 years boy I like your tips !! Thanks for your effort on this !!
