Hello Little Girl,
Last time I wrote to you, I said you were almost a toddler.
Well, since then we’ve officially decided that you are indeed a toddler. You did something funny that babies do not do: you picked up an empty bucket, put it over your head, and stumbled around blind like a goof.
So: toddler. That’s what you are now!
Many more updates have happened too. You had your first pee into a real toilet, though you will still need diapers for a while. You had a big sickness, and got covered in hives after throwing up in the car seat. Mom and Dad cleaned you up, kept you home, and helped you feel better. You’re all better today!
You have too many words to count, and can use 2 or 3 of them in a row. Let’s see: “bah-bud-duh” is your word for your favourite bunny. You have: more, please, thank you, ball, block, water, noodle, wash, bye-bye, hello, no, yes, mama, dada, all done, elephant, dino, diggy, bubbles, neigh, fork, spoon, help, fox, woof woof, raccoon, car, airplane, bike, nana, papa, banana, apple, flower, cup, brush, dirty, hair, splash, foot, toe, shoe, boot, sock, jacket, stroller, avocado, bean, pea, hummus, up, down, bear, arm, leg...
So many words! There’s probably a few dozen more I’m forgetting.
You’re confident on swings, bikes, slides, and playgrounds. Swimming continues to go well too. The warm weather is nice, and we’ve been to the park a lot. You like the sand and kicking balls. Oh, and colouring! I forgot that word: you definitely know how to say “colour.” You love to scribble with crayons or chalk, and you can say many of the colours themselves.
Soon enough you’ll be two years old. We wonder how your personality will continue to grow. Many two-year olds can get very fussy around that age. You certainly let us know when you don’t get your way, so we shall see how that plays out!
Lots of love as always,
Dad

I'm always delighted to learn a baby's first words. It shows what they deem interesting and important (and, usually, what they love to eat). My son's favourite word for a while was 'abo-kat' (said with a explosion of emotion). Can you guess what it means? 😁
<3
I think her official first words were in the Mama / Dada / NO range, haha.
Does Abo-kat = apricot??
You're close. It's 'avocado'.
Ahhhh cute. My wee one pronounces that one: 'Ah-koooh' 😁
