STEEM PHOTO NEWS

@vladikras has just announced the WINNERS of his YourCityVibez 4 competition, and he announced a new theme – “Urban”

Please state clearly in the comments how would you like to be featured in the “Daily Photo Selection”: with a linked photo, or with link only without a photo. We are making a list of photographers who are ready to improve the visibility of their work through the DPS. Thank you.

Daily photo selection is aimed to stimulate photographers in their search of quality. One of the elements that should always be included with your photos, are the information on equipment and exposure data. That way you will give valuable lesson to other photographers, and they will undoubtly respond with more upvotes.

Nice. So how do the post's earnings get divided up among the image creators?
Evenly? Does @photo-trail take any kind of a cut?

I'd like to know the answer to this question before I consider allowing my photos to be used in the DPS.

Some of these are really great.

Nice selection of photos, great job everyone :)

Steemit is a great place for photos.

Great pictures to look at on a warm Sunday afternoon. Thank you everyone

Hands up to everyone in today's selection. A great body of work. Can't quite believe @Cottonlazarus has a shared interest in dead insects.. I have to meet this guy. @apprenticeoflife, TOP MARKS and also special mentions from me for @brumest (clever moves indeed and fantastic end results) @timbrockley for lifting up the flaps of life and of course I can't mention everyone ! that's P-T's job but @winstonwolfe, great to see a tutorial and the shots are crackers too.

upvoted & resteemed !

Love that tree

Thank you very much, @photo-trail!
Upvoted & resteemed :))

Congratulations to the winners, all the photos are wonderful.

There are no "winners" in this post. If you read more carefully you'll see that was just a reference to another thread where a contest was being held. This post is by an author who appears to be making a lot of money off of other peoples pictures.
Unless they comment here to correct me and say thats not whats happening.

Thank uuuu!!! :)

Beautiful selection and many thanks for the feature! Looking forward to many new awesome selections from you. All the best!

That picture in Namibia is stunning!!

I follow you, follow me back if u want much fun and amazing picture everyday.

nice @photo-trail check mine photos also if u can i hope you find some great photos

i do not support this initiative and neither should you.

at no point should anyone be able to profit off the content of someone else.

this is theft.

i see photos in this post whose creators didn't even make $10 with their original posts of them.
i say split the earnings evenly among the creators of this content or your guilty of stealing.

No it isn't @mobydick. All the authors with featured photos have consented to that, and they have benefit of it. You can have your post featured as a link only, if you think this is not fair. Please provide proof that a photo of a judge you sent in your comment wasn't stolen, and you will have a link to it in the DPS.

So, I love the idea of a @photo-trail, but steem trails were originally meant to be a community of voters that gave voting permission on their behalf to a user who follows a guideline when dealing out those votes. That's great! That helps the original artist and the steemit photo community all around!
However, I do feel what you are doing here crosses the lines of the Steemit Etiquette Guide, and does nothing to help the artist, only whomever is behind this particular photo trail.
While you might be linking back to the OP, not many viewers (especially the new ones) aren't going to bother going to each OP and upvoting. Since you are keeping all the earnings from essentially compiling other people's work, it does NOTHING to help the artist or the community, in general. You are not being original with your content, only piggy-backing off of the hard work of a handful of other people.
I believe it would only be fair for you to divide the earnings evenly between yourself and the artists featured in your post.

Please, leave to the authors to judge if this helps them or not. They do decisions for themselves. All photos were published with their consent.

The authors are not the only ones affected by this. New users may not understand that their vote on your post doesn't trickle down to the people who actually deserve the money.
Did you even offer to split the earnings with them? I think that would only be polite. After all, we are trying to build a community that is beneficial to all. :)

Awesome photos 😮
