Women of Dash: A New Community is Born, My New Video Series

in #dash7 years ago (edited)

There's been a crazy feeling of synergy ever since I joined the Women of Dash group in Dash Nation.

A German investor named Anja had created the #womenofdash channel within the Dash Slack before I joined up and now it's a full-fledged movement. Women are basically pouring in and it feels very different from anything I've ever experienced.

This coincides with my Dash proposal being passed by the Dash DAO, and I'll be posting how I did that soon.

Anja and myself have pretty strong synergy because she's sort of a math/business person while I'm a very artistic/visionary type. We are working together, but what amazes me is the number of women who are coming into our newly created community and sharing their knowledge, making videos, etc. It's like a dam that broke open over the last week. We're creating an area in the Dash Forum to document these happenings, and things are moving very fast indeed. Another thing I've been noticing is that I'm meeting a lot of businesswomen who are investors. There's definitely a vibe of business-minded people in the Dash community. Most of these businesswomen are investing in Dash and Ethereum, and they seem to be converting their Bitcoin holdings to other coins. One of my new friends in there runs several businesses and she loans out her Dash for margin trading on Poloniex. She's going to start making videos soon, as well as posting on Steemit.

Yesterday, I created my first video for my new series, Dash For Newbies, which is supported by the Dash Treasury.

The best part of working with a DAO, is that they don't tell me what style to create or do. I have total creative freedom. This is huge. As I'm learning more about how the Dash DAO works, I have to admit, I believe it is a superior system that promotes organic growth. What stands out too, is that the community managers are very encouraging and they respond to changing needs. Tao, who is a very kind-hearted person immediately created a new space on the Dash Forum called Women of Dash, so we can start collecting all the new things that are going on and share them with others.

Here's my new video for the Dash For Newbies series:

I'm so excited that you are delving into the world of video discussion ! As a like-minded, straight forward woman, you go girl !! :)

I luv it! Especially the ending!

I am a supporter of Dash, I like its governance model and the way the project is being managed, but wonder what will happen IF a split occurs in Bitcoin, which side of the fence will Dash go? I do have some doubts about Dash long term since its tied to Bitcoin so much. I kindof see that as its Achilles heel, at least in the long term. On the other hand I could also see Dash being Bitcoin's salvation long term, an evolutionary path that puts slow Bitcoin into to the backend while Dash builds a solid, fast front end. Ya gotta love that Amanda B tho, she's a real doll!

I was disappointed to learn that Dash's stealth (Private Send) is based on a coin mixing approach. The privacy that provides increases with the volume of transactions, but isn't absolute. When BitShares releases its stealth feature later this year it will provide true and absolute anonymity for those who want it.

I can see how privacy and anonymity are important, but I've always felt it was diametrically opposed to the idea of an open and public blockchain. For example, the vision of a guberment that might use a blockchain based digital currency as its national currency would be a tool that provides transparency to how the guberment spends revenue, a tool for accountability. You can throw that idea out the window if that blockchain had a "stealth" or "Private" system.

For businesses a privacy feature is considered to be very important to shield business transactions from competitors.

When looking at history, it is usually not the best technology that wins. The one that wins is the one that provides the most value to users. Dash is focused on mainstream adoption and its governance structure can pivot according to market needs, which includes technology improvements. In the future, it won't be up to the crypto specialists to decide which coin goes mainstream. It will be up to my mom.
Each coin community will have different offerings, so it's not a monocultural idea. Ethereum has its own use cases, so does Dash. Leadership becomes the most important aspect of these communities because without good solid leadership, communities, and along with it, funding dies out.

I couldn't agree more.

this is a fantastic point and is enticing me to buy more dash at its current price despite the negative i am currently in with my investment in it

Remember, it was not Friendster that took over the world even though it was one of the first social media sites to be invented. It is who does it best to give people features that they desire that wins out the market. EVERY TIME.

NIce stella, math + art = nice collaboration. :)

oh god! It's perfect. Of course having the blessing of Amanda B. Johnson really sent me over the happiness ledge!

Was wondering where you were these days. Excellent!

I go where I am most needed and respected for my gifts!

Nice to see the ladies in the crypto world educating me and all the new learners. I been into bitcoin for years but Dash starts today:),this is a great video..Cheers!

Like dash..

I am glad you got funded, that is why I spoke up in the forum awhile back for some people that did not know you as well and said what I did about you creating good content.

I wanted to thank you also for your votes the past couple months on my posts. I helped me and I wanted to say I appreciated it.

Have a nice week Stella.

I love this idea. I am not seeing the link, however. Can you show me where it is, or repost it. Thanks!
