


DATABASE, is also called electronic database, any collection of data, or information, that is specially organized for rapid search and retrieval by a computer. Database are structured to facilitate the storage, retrieval, modification, and deletion of data in conjunction with various data-processing operations.
HISTORY. Databases begins with the two earliest computerized examples. Charles Bachman designed the first computerized database in the early 1960's. This first database was known aw the Integrated Data Store, or IDS. This was shortly followed by the information Management System, a database created by IBM.
