1983 - Abul Fazl, eminent literary and former Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University. He was born on 17 July 1903 in Kaanchia, Satkania upazila of Chittagong. He is basically a thoughtful and socialist editor. In his essay, the identity of the deep and transparent visions about society, literature, culture and the state is known. In 2012, he was awarded the Independence Award for his contributions to literature. He also won the Bangla Academy Award (1962), President's Literary Award (1963), Adamjee Literature Award (1960), Nasiruddin Gold Medal (1980), Muktadhar Sahitya Puraskar (1981), Abdul Hai Sahitya Padak (1982), State Literary Award and Samakal Puraskar Got profit. He also served as Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University and as a Education Advisor to the Bangladesh Government. Abul Fazal died on 4 May 1983 in Chittagong.
