Today at 12 GMT the DECENT network successfully went through its first update. From the morning, there have been some glitches with some of the miners, probably due to OHV outage, and the participation dropped to ~78%. Some of the nodes restored in the meantime, and at 12:00 the network switched to Update 1, with participation around 75%. Considering the low start from the morning, consider it a success and a proof that the community finds the added value in the update. UPDATE: we found the issue that caused 7 nodes to crash. One of the seeders pushed a PoR operation with new format before the update. The updated miners were suppose to reject it (as it was before update), but it the operation was instead included in block 2242218. The 7 miners that were not yet running newer software were rejecting the whole block and all subsequent blocks.
Clearly an unfortunate error, but since the update has already been applied does not make sense to do anything with it, just learn the lesson and be more thoroughgoing next time.
