I think I know of the society to which you are referring, and if I could go a step further with it, the society I'm thinking about wanted a king because at the lowest level, it would be easier on them. They wouldn't have to think as much, participate as much, even if it meant giving up freedoms and potentially being ruled by bad kings, which is exactly what happened. They essentially traded away their freedom because, in the end it was too much work to maintain it. And they could get away with a lot more, too. At least for awhile. And then they paid for it in the end.

Yes thank you for the extra information . I was not to sure on the motivation behind it . Better to leave it off then stating an error .
greed and laziness

I think there were probably more, but laziness, greed and basically wanting to be like everyone else would be the motivators in my opinion.

Well, yeah, it's definitely easier to add on than it is to retract. There have been quite a variety of different governments that have been tried throughout history, and in the end, the founding fathers adopted some of it from a wide range of civilizations, created some others, and then put it all together.

And yet, even they knew that it would not last long if the people weren't informed, engaged and of higher moral standing. Let any of those three go, and the government topples. So, here we are, trying to fire up a worldwide cryptocurrency on a decentralized blockchain to circumvent all of the oppressive authority that exists to some degree in all of our sovereign nations.

oh what fun .
I have found that eventually people find a way around or through oppression . sometimes it's for the better other times you get something worse .
Time will tell as it always does
