RE: Where's The Beef?

in #deepdivesyesterday

Notice you said "mostly island paradises", which is highly unlikely there wasn't some form of a hierarchy in those tribes similar American Indian hierarchy, don't even have to be as organized as that even for a hierarchy to exist. No where in history can it be proven without a doubt, that such a paradise exist that you mention.

Sort:

Yes, there was hierarchy - but that is not the point.  None of the societies that arose in abundance (like We have access to today) developed money.  None required proof that anOther added energy into the system/community to have what was needed.

The needed things were freely available to All.

But yes, history shows that Figi, in particular, was free and happy.  They did have Some who directed Others, but the "authority" was given by the Ones being governed, not taken through paying bullies.

Tahiti, though it had a history of being invaded by bullies, still, by the time the "western world" moved in and forced accounting for energy added onto the People, had been peaceful and happy for a couple hundred years, with no money in sight.

It is not the matter of "authority" that I am addressing.  Just whether energy added by the People was accounted for.  The social norms are irrelevant to the fact that They did not develop money.

And when You consider that today 80+ % of Us have jobs that are there to push money around, not add needed work - food, clothing, shelter, transportation, communication - You might grasp that without the need for money, very few jobs are needed, and that is reduced further when We automate the necessary work no One wants to do, We can supply the planet with needed and desired things without demanding payment in physical things, without accounting for energy added.

The few required jobs left will be the creative ones, and We will have plenty of People willing to do them for the renown, the love, the appreciation, the bragging rights, and other social currencies.
