The economy may very well be the mother of all generalizations. It takes the essentials of human life and community and reduces them into a bunch of line charts for the rich to gamble on.

No need to waste time dusting the guillotines, they'll work just fine as is. They're pretty sturdy pieces of equipment, and the dust will shake itself off anyway after a few uses.
