What NOT TO DO in DeepOnion's community

in #deeponion7 years ago

If you are a regular visitor of the forum, occasional reader, and participant of community's activities, you are well aware that this is not just a regular group of people talking about random stuff, wasting time. This is a very active and productive place, with a positive atmosphere and ton of information.

That being said, I don't understand how people still don't get that hate, laziness and overall indifference to happenings on the forum won't get you anywhere. Yes, there are airdrops, giveaways, and bounties, but let's be real here. How do you expect to be involved in any crypto community without being willing to invest either money or time? In any community? In anything in life?

This place is filled with people that are contributing so much to this project (Devs, Mods, members), they put their time and make so much quality, useful things, so I would like to use this opportunity to thank them for being the inspiration for others that come across this forum. On the other hand, there are people that are trying to trick or abuse the system. I don't see why you even bother to try since the community is active, it will be noticed and you will face consequences. Also, the system is very simple and very generous – you contribute, you get rewarded.

Word of caution: This is not an official list of rules, this is just me pointing out what I have learned so far.

For those who are not familiar what is “trick and abuse” here, read the following list that is very basic (hope you have read the official list of rules):

  • Don't spam – we all support the project, don't just write random things and make a joke of everyone here;
  • Don't buy votes and do other similar things – as @Deeper said, we are gentleman. We have a strong community and destroying polls like this isn't a way to support the project;
  • Don't post low-quality content – I know you want ONIONs, we all do, but be honest with yourself when making something. You need to represent yourself and the whole project with your work;
  • Don't beg for ONIONs – There is a section called “ONION GIVEAWAYS” where you can participate, there are also contests and bounty program. There are ways in which you can get ONIONs, but don't disgrace yourself begging and expecting everything to fall into your lap. Here every contribution counts. Don't be cheesy;
  • Don't ask bounty for the same work twice – I mean, how bad this is – the system is willing to pay for every contribution, and you want more, for nothing? Just . . . Don't.

This is a very basic list that needs and will be updated once in a while since there are so many abusive ideas. Take the time to read the rules, instructions, and guides. It is not a waste of time and it will save you and others a lot of frustration.
