In the past ten years or so I have seen a major shift in the attitude towards politics. Nowadays almost everyone is complaining about how stupid politicians are. Very few are left that honestly support a party. And this is of course an absolutely fantastic development.
Here is what I dont get. The same people now call for more state power, and believe that if they just vote right, this time is will work out. How many times do they need to get betrayed? This is like the love story with an abusive ex. You know well enough its not good for you, but you just cant move on.
If politicians suck, we need to give them less power! People complain about Trump and yes, it obviously sucks. And it is deeply unfair that such a clown has so much power over us. But the solution is not to vote for another clown, it is to put the clown where he belongs, in the circus where we laugh at them and then move away.
The solution is really simple, but people are so indoctrinated to the idea of governance that they dont even start to question the fundamentals. Why do we need people to rule us in the first place?

Maybe NO ONE should be voting at all anymore :) And let the people decide who will run instead of a couple of candidates chosen by the politician themselves I believe :) They need to think outside the box... our options to vote are so limited!
The whole system is broken. No need to vote at all. If you want to keep democracy but remove a lot of the corruption I think the only way is to draw random people from the population for every decision. Sounds crazy but hardly would be worse than what we have.
