How to Deal with Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt - Part 1 - The Bubble of Hapiness

in #depression6 years ago (edited)

Dealing with uncertainty successfully is an art form and skill only those with the rock solid faith and courage can achieve.

Uncertainty comes in many forms, and creates uncomfortable feelings and thoughts. To fully understand uncertainty, we must first understand the "bubble of happiness"

The Bubble of Happiness is also referred to as the Bubble of Ignorant Bliss. When we successfully create and live inside our bubble, everything is copasetic, calm, and we are in control as Kings and Queens of our domain. Eventually though, our bubble of happiness may burst, and we may find ourselves living in total uncertainty.

Why did my bubble burst?

We maybe asking ourselves this question after our bubble has burst and our life has gone down the drain. For educational purposes I have provided a list of reasons why our bubble may have burst.

  1. All the wrong decisions we have made greatly decreased the integrity of our bubble. Typically wrong decisions build up until the bubble can no longer handle the pressure. Normally we do not realize our wrong decisions until it is to late.

  2. We just could not take the boredom and monotony of our happiness. Unfortunately, we only realize how comfortable our bubble was after it has burst. For some reason, beyond our conscious mind, we self sabotage a perfectly good an normal life, because the well beaten path we find ourselves on brings thoughts of how our life was going to be different from the dregs of society.

  3. We relive past bubble burst. Many of us have a time in childhood when our bubble burst, and we have to wash up the mess and begin again. Sometimes the childhood trauma is severe, and unless we deal this trauma as an adult, we recreate the bubble burst from our childhood in a cycle of madness until the trauma is healed.

  4. An act of God. Like a meteor hitting Earth, sometimes life is dealing us a raw hand. Situations such as terminal illness, loss of family, and actions beyond our control take advantage of our fragile existence. These are the hardest bubble burst to handle, as the powerlessness, depression, fear, uncertainty and doubt can be overwhelming.

Have courage. You are not alone. In the next few postings we will work to understand and build our new life of happiness. Until then, stay strong and carry on.
