| Nach mehrstündiger Fahrt durch Wüstentäler erreichte ich die schillernd grüne Insel. Die Festung thront über den Palmenwedeln und lassen an vergangene Zeiten erinnern, als der Weihrauchhandel noch wirtschaftlicher Schwerpunkt war. Es herrschte eine ruhige Stimmung in den zahlreichen, angenehm „kühlen“ beschatteten Palmgärten. Auch auf dem Markt war wenig los, doch liess eindrücke in das autentische Leben arabischer Kultur zu. Dicke Lehmmauern und traditionelle Kühltürme anstelle der Glasfassaden und brummende Klimaanlagen in den boomenden Golfmetropolen, prägen das Strassenbild. Arabien, autentisch! | After few hours drive through desert valleys I reached the dazzling green island. The fortress rise over the palm fronds and remind of past times, when the incense trade was still the economic focus. It was a quiet atmosphere in the numerous, pleasant "cool" shaded palm gardens. There was not much going on in the market either, but it allowed impressions of the authentic life of Arab culture. Thick mud walls and traditional cooling towers instead of the glass facades and humming air conditioning systems in the booming golf metropolises characterize the streetscape. Arabia, authentic! |

Wow Hammer Bilder!! Oman sieht echt interessant aus
oman ist meine empfehlung für arabien. wohl kein anderes "sicheres" land ist so autentisch für arabien wie das sultanat. hier spielen die kinder noch fussball in den hofplätzen!
