Gestern habe ich, wie schon oft am 1. eines Monats ein paar Hive aufgepowert. Wie üblich bekommt man dann von @hivebuzz ein Abzeichen (badged) in Form einer mehr oder weniger dicken Biene.
Dieses mal spendierte mir @hivebuzz noch ein weiteres: einen springenden Delphin. Das brachte mich auf die oben genannte Frage. Um herauszufinden warum Delfine springen, habe ich ein wenig recherchiert. Nun mag ich dieses Wissen mit euch teilen.

Delphine sind wahrscheinlich die intelligentesten Tiere des Ozeans, und sie wissen, wie man Spaß hat. Wenn sie aus dem Wasser springen, sieht das manchmal aus, als würden sie die Showbühne betreten, um ihr Können zu präsentieren. Es ist, als ob sie sagen würden: "Schaut mal, was ich kann!" Aber warum machen sie das?
Nun, es gibt mehrere Vermutungen. Zuerst einmal könnten sie einfach gute Laune haben. Delphine sind gesellige Tiere und genießen die Gesellschaft ihrer Artgenossen. Das Springen könnte ein Zeichen dafür sein, dass sie in der Stimmung für einen kleinen Spaß sind. Es ist so, als würden sie sich gegenseitig anstupsen und sagen: "Komm schon, lass uns herumtollen!"
Es könnte auch eine Möglichkeit sein, ihre Jagdfähigkeiten zu zeigen. "Schau, ich kann hoch hinaufspringen, um Beute zu finden!" Das ist so, als würden sie prahlen: "Ich bin der König des Ozeans!" Weiterhin gibt es die Theorie, dass sie beim Springen lästige Parasiten loswerden. Es ist, als würden sie sich selbst eine schnelle Dusche gönnen, um sich frisch und sauber zu fühlen.
Möglicherweise machen sie es einfach, weil sie es können, es cool aussieht und es sich prickelnd anfühlt ;)
Delphine wissen, wie man das Leben genießt, und ihr Springverhalten ist vielleicht ihre eigene Art von Party-Kick.
