Vote weight is 10 000 so right not you can vote 100 000 times a day and still preserve your voting power.
It it were to change to 1 you could only vote 10 000 times without your voting power decreasing.

Spreading out votes increases the odds of voting rewards to folks that want the ecosystem to increase in value, and not just skim as much as they can.
