Renewal of the HBD Stabilizer Proposal

To keep a vital part of Hive's financial infrastructure running smoothly, here is the renewal of the HBD Stabilizer proposal for the next two months. This initiative continues to support the price stability of Hive Backed Dollars (HBD), which plays a key role in the overall economic health of our blockchain.

About the HBD Stabilizer

The HBD Stabilizer is a critical tool for reducing price volatility and strengthening the Hive network's financial resilience. It has proven effective over time in maintaining stability, as detailed in @smooth's earlier updates.

All funds sent to the stabilizer are used exclusively for trading according to its charter, with any resulting HBD or profits returned to the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF).

  • When HBD trades above the $1 target, the stabilizer sells HBD to bring the price down, often generating profit for the community.
  • If HBD exceeds $1.05, it also converts HIVE into HBD, removing HIVE from circulation while creating additional HBD that can potentially be sold for profit.

By helping to stabilize the HBD peg, it supports the long-term robustness of Hive's economy. For more details on its goals and track record, check out @smooth's posts: [1] [2] [3]

Community Call to Action

I encourage every Hive community member to vote in favor of this renewal to keep the stabilizer active.

Your votes are essential to sustaining this important service and protecting our blockchain's financial stability. This renewal maintains the same terms as before: same funding level from the DHF, directed to the same beneficiary (@hbdstabilizer).

Thank you for your continued support!

I won't support but would nice to have metrics that show what the fund does and how it acted over the past year.

Because we have on-chain incentives for converting HBD<->HIVE maybe we should let users organically try to profit for keeping the peg, a daily pay of 12k is scary right now because it can exercise debt

Agreed, frankly I’m sick of watching hive get crushed to keep this artificial peg of HBD and dollar, but regardless of my own reasons for not supporting this. It would be nice to have more data in proposal I agree.

Yep, supporting this is still a no-brainer 😁

Rock solid. No qualms 👌

Thanks for sharing this. I have curated your post using Ecency.

What exactly is the price of HBD now in the crypto market, please !!!

It's around 99 cents as I write this. The typical fluctuation these days is around 98 to 100 cents with very occasional spikes over 100.

Okay, thank you. It's very worrisome that HBD has continued to be very low.

Very low? It's supposed to be $1, so it's close.

We are well below that for a week. Seems like another bogus take. Didn’t you say same thing at a dime? The HBD peg remains because it’s a tiny tiny community using it. Thus making it easier to keep it going when it’s hardly used for anything besides accounts mass piling into savings , which most will never get it out before peg breaks. I just think it can last a lot longer than you. It’s doomed for one though. But with Hive having no growth & heavy loss of active users, that actually helps HBD peg ironically.

This proposal is rather incomplete. Before asking for more money, you really ought to show us what this fund has done and, more importantly, actually achieves.

You will find all the information you need in this post

Thanks for that!

Hi dear @arcange

Thank you so much for supporting me. I appreciate your support on my post.
Have a good day.

You're welcome @oyon266. Have a good day too.

We need a lot more HBD. It's crucial to sustain Hive's ecosystem. Supported.

Comment makes no sense.

Try to make it make sense and educate yourself instead of writing non-sense comment replies for clout.

HBD is a a failed experiment. Hive has bled 98% and some not all of this is pressure from artificially trying to manage a peg on a platform that has lost 99% its users since 2021. Price down 98% & users who are active from peak 99%, HBD had one use, paying portion of rewards so half would be in stable condition while other half was in Hive. HBD has been promoted by Hive devs as likely to be the stable coin on bitcoin network and other fantasy & nonsense takes that will never ever happen. The DHF funded projects that paid people to except HBD in commerce and it was all a wasted effort and for nothing. HBD is a failed experiment, the market choice was clear and it was for stable tokens bashed by value not an algorithm artificial peg. HBD is tiny and that’s only reason it still holds a peg generally. I’ll never understand putting extra pressure on main token to prop up a weak artificial peg on HBD. The biggest holders who have HBD locked up to earn APR will likely never get it out at the dollar peg. It’s just small group who continue to push nonsense like HBD can be a mainstream used stable outside our platform when it’s been clearly disproven over & over.
