What I see happening is how we will split the world into thousands of mini tribes again with their own little sect. That seems to be where the world is going.
I see this happening as well. Sort of a return to the Middle Ages, with State power will still present, but I'm not sure it will have the same scope and greatness as it has had. This process could be generational as well, with interesting things occuring in the meantime.
