Riding trends, saving money, and moving on

Something I realized when writing this article was that the early days of steem it was easy to make money, but now in October 2018 the tides have changed. One can not simply make a simple blog post, while earning a bunch of money from steetm anymore doing minimal work. Like the saying goes you can't put all your eggs in one basket, the same goes for any of these websites even for the more established ones such as Youtube, Instagram, or Facebook. These websites are very popular now, but will they be around 5 years from now? How about 10, 20, or even 30 years from now. Eigtheen years ago Yahoo! was valued at forty billion dollars, but now sold for several billion dollars now. Think about how quicklly digital depreciation happens and how teenagers now have moved from using e-mail to now Instagram and Snapchat and one will quickly realize even a great website like steeemit is far from perfect. Yes it is amazing the oppurtunity we have on the intrnetn, but every cent we earn from these sites should be invested into making our own site. One should realize we need all these websites are marketing tools. That's it. Yes you many have grown up with these platforms and really like them, but at the end of the day these platforms will change and you'll make less money on these websites despite putting a lot of effort into them like you did several years ago. Just something to keep in mind.
