They should flush it! and join the real action - no ads, speedy, good content, good people, limited tin foil hats - Steemit all the way!
As long as advertisers don't know any better and are willing to throw large somes of money at advertising to fake accounts, dormant accounts, duplicate accounts and catfish accounts in the hopes of reaching someone who would buy their stuff then Facebook won't be going anywhere.
Big corporates don't do much due dillgence when it comes to advertising they just want to report on ficticious numbers and pat themselves on the back
