How to Make Earrings, Part 2

in #diy7 years ago

This style of longer earring with more dangly stuff was requested by a buyer of some other earrings I posted long ago. I feel almost like this post is cheating, really, because this is an extension of the process shown in Part 1.

The key difference in this pair of earrings is adding "chandeliers," which I finally found at a local hobby supply store. Chandeliers let me suspend several utems with a visually appealing link, in this case eye pins holding columns of beads. I used dyed reconstituted stone for this first try. They are nothing particularly fancy, but they are colorful.

I used round nose pliers to form eyes on both ends of one wire to add some color with a bead near the ear hook as a counterpoint to the rest of the beaded head pins. In fact, the only difficult bit was forming eyes so they could be linked to the chandelier and ear hook via a jump ring. The same applies to the columns of beads on the head pins.
