Recycling glass bottles with shells

in #diy5 years ago (edited)

Recently while visiting beach, my kids picked up some beautiful seashells. I tried to use them in decorating these glass bottles.
For this project, the things I used are :-
Empty olive oil bottles
Jute ribbon
Metal pieces
White glue
All purpose adhesive
Some paint if you want to paint the sea shells

First I washed the empty bottles with warm soapy water. Luckily the labels removed quite easily. Than I cut the golden ring on the neck of bottles and let those dry completely.
Now the bottles were ready. I used the white glue to securely wrap the jute ribbon around bottle neck and bottom. I really like the combination of glass and jute effect.
Next I used the adhesive to glue the shells on bottle. The shells need a stronger adhesive to stick.
At the end I glued the metal pieces using white glue and left it to dry for some hours.
