In the same way, unless a house is properly maintained, a person cannot live there.
He bought a house that had many real problems, but was priced where it was possible to buy it with Cash. The important repairs are done, and we're after those needed to rent the house.

When a person buys an old house, there are similar problems and then he has to put money on it and get it set up.
It's an old house, and he knew it would be a pain to get it ready. We have done a lot of fixing and upgrades, to get it ready to rent. Still a long way to go, but steady progress is encouraging!

Always is, but we've got a lot more than that done already. When he bought it it was in bad shape! But it was what he could pay cash for, so no loan. The back room used to be a back porch, so it had no foundation or proper floor. We removed the rotted 'floor', and lifted the room's walls; and built a new foundation under them. We built a new wall on the south side of the garage, because it had collapsed from termite damage. Then we repaired the garage door and rebuilt the frame for the small door. We re-supported the floor in the living room and the dining room, but we haven't fixed the bathroom yet. Windows and doors needed repairs, and they're done now. The front porch was a cracked mess, so we jackhammered it out, and used the debris to begin the fill for the floor in the back room. We are close to adding forms, and recasting that porch. He had to buy heavy equipment to dig out the driveway; but we had to rebuild the hydraulics on it first, that's almost done. He bought and repaired a heavy truck to pull it, and bought a trailer to carry it (7000 pounds). It took a year to find the repair seals for the last valve repair on the skid steer, but we're close now! He will use it for earthwork for the land he bought out by my Sister's place too. We removed and replaced the back fence recently, and he paid to have a problem tree removed.

It is good to give all the money and buy, later one does not have to worry about giving money. Our house was also old some time ago, so we had it repaired in the same way, all the roofs were done, all the floors were done, so it took time and money, but now it is exactly like this. Like a new house.
