Russia used social media to keep EU voters at home, report finds

The media today describes this as some sort of new tactic the Russians started. It did not become a topic until the Russian probes about the 2016 US Presidential Election went on. To what extent is it real? Who knows?

We may have heard of the expression control of the media, control of the mind. The point was never to convince everyone to think a certain way. You only need a critical mass to achieve desired effect. The Bolshevik Revolution had many of such victories that won the Reds Russia.

Of course, it would be silly to assume the commies invented this approach. Spreading rumors had always been a strategic option to mislead your enemies. Affecting the morale of your opponent could translate to an edge in battle.

Coming back in full circle, what of the conspiracies that circulate among us today? Is it more plausible to believe in the supposed harmful effects of vaccines? Or is it more practical to believe that it is a ploy to lower health standards for future conquests?

It is all hard to say, but what if?
