Wild bees are building their homes from plastic—and scientists aren’t sure why

At first, I thought this would be an article about how bees are suffering from the follies of humanity. It turned out to be an interesting read.

Life finds a way. This is one of many examples where animals adapted to their changing environment. Few weeks ago, I recall coming across a guy on Reddit talking about a bear who adapted. The gist of it was that it learned to barter with the guard dog. That's a fun story as well.

We do come across the horrid image of deformed sea life and dying animals when it comes to plastic. In this case, it would appear the plastic might be beneficial to the bees as building material. Some of the things mentioned include free from parasites and fungal infestation. I would say that is a win for them.

Of course, all these are initial observations. Time will tell if this is a good thing for these important creatures.
