On Wednesday, Kevin Durant affirmed there was no chance that he was going to be returning from his injury this season. Today, Kyrie Irving ended the Nets chances of going deep in the playoffs with the announcement that he will undergo season ending shoulder surgery.
Irving's first season in Brooklyn had its shares of ups and downs. The team signed him and Durant in the off season knowing KD would not be there his first year. Irving did not make matters any easier.
Just before the all star break, Irving showed how potent he can be. He dropped 53 in a game meaning he is a force at any given time.
Now the Nets will have to focus on next season. Irving getting his shoulder fixed is one of the first steps.
