Ants Trapped For Years in a Soviet Nuclear Bunker Survived in The Most Horrifying Way

This is a very strange story. It seems that ants created a big nest in a forest in Poland, directly over a Soviet bunker. The bunker has a rotten ventilation shaft and because of the weight of the ants colony, some of the ants started falling down to the dark bunker below.

There, millions of ants trapped without food or a way out, survived in the only possible way, by cannibalizing each other.

In 2016 the scientists installed a wooden plank in the bunker, connecting the ventilation shaft to the ground. In just four months, almost all the trapped ants deserted the bunker floor.

Now, when ants fall into the dark bunker, they don't have to eat each other anymore. They can just climb back home, to the forest above.

That’s kind of gross, but hey, they survived. I wonder what differences these ants have with non cannabalistic ants???

Left a dlike tip!

No difference. They had to eat each other because there was nothing else alive down there. Thank you.
