The requirements for licensing Libra will be "very high", Coeure said on Friday in Helsinki after a meeting of euro ministers of finance. The skepticism of the department heads is consistent in the point. The Libra announcement was also a wake-up call for the central bank to focus more on digital currencies. "We need a unified regulation of digital currencies in Europe," he said.

Central banks, overseers and politicians have been storming against the cyber-devise Libra planned by Facebook. Because of the potential number of users - about 2.4 billion people are registered on Facebook - Libra could play an important role in the international monetary system in the long term.
