New Hero, Brigitte added to Competitive in Season 10

This is a new era, so we decided to cruise the internet as well as our own brains and plentiful hours of knowledge of Overwatch to bring you MMG's top tips for success in Overwatch Season 10(early season). We'll be going live on Dlive today with our placement matches, which means we'll be in the thick of it, but we're no noobs, we've been here before, and we know what to expect. While our opinions may not be absolute, we're pretty sure these will help you climb...if you're into that sort of thing.

Tips for Overwacth Season 10

Tip 1: Avoid the first days of Season 10. Yep, we're pretty much going to ignore our own first tip, but it's a good one if you're trying to strategize and get some good placement matches. The reason for this is, well, the players. Season 10 of Overwatch will see the addition of a new support hero, Brigitte, who's sure to make an impact on the game for better(just being a good support) and for worse(being insta-picked by noobs with no time on her). YES, blame Brigitte for your many loses at the beginning of these season, but don't hate the game, hate the player.

Tip 2: Get good with Brigitte. What, but you just said-- look I know what I said, but that was tip 1, this is tip 2! Brigitte will certainly shake things up now that she's available in comp...if you're good with her. Using Brigitte well work best with 2 other support characters, and preferably a flat environment(don't let people get above you). Running with 3 supports in this manner will be very similar to the impact of having a team with quad tanks and Lucio/Moira for support, strong.

Tip 3: Stick with your main! I know they're getting old and Brigitte is just so new..but stick with your main. You should also have 2 other characters you fill comfortable filling with for situations where you don't get your main. I'd suggest adding a support character and a tank to the mix up(cough, Orisa and Brigitte). You can add a dps, but if that's the case I'd recommend it be soldier(Mcree has a learning curve) and you get good at shooting down Phara.

Best Season 10 Characters

If you want your team to succeed in Overwatch Season 10, we suggest that one or more of these characters be part of the mix:

PHARA

  • able to shoot down Brigitte and other supports with ease. Annoying as hell. Also, she can fly.

JUNKRAT

  • does insane dps(damage per second) and that's all there is to it. Spam, and then spam some more.

MEI

  • Mei is bae, she's also incredibly hard to kill and can now freeze multiple enemies at a time(perfect Brigitte counter).

ORISA

  • your team needs a shield, this is the one for the job. Other shields will work, but this is the most annoying one.

BRIGITTE

  • she's got that new car smell, plus she heals people. What's not to like? Oh yea, the noobs...

Season 10 Extras

The new map Realto is likely to not be seen until mid-season or season 11. Currently the map is still being tweaked on the PTR servers, and I think that after Blizzard World, I speak for all fans of the game when I say "take your time".

Last, this is for all the Toxic-Tina's out there(or Toxic-Tylers), this will be the first full competitive season where you can use the "Avoid As Teammate" option. No longer will have to deal with the same annoying person nagging for 4 games in a row before they pit you against each other. This is honestly the most awesome thing Overwatch has done in awhile, and it was so simple...thanks be to Jeff.

Avoid as teammate option is available all season for the first time.

About Tonight's Stream - Smurf's Placement

Well, it's Overwatch season 10 alright. Feels like just Friday I was starring at my computer cursing it for only giving me solid enough reasons to play Fortnite and FighterZ, and now here we are, season 10...I'm sure it's going to be toxic. I'm sure I'll be shaking my head(smh) and raging over comms in no time, and yet...I'm excited for it. I guess that's just the Smurf in me. Yep, bon-e-fied Smurf blood, not your typical blue blood.

I'm going to ask you this once, and if you don't respond accordingly, I'll ignore you, play widow and be forced to come to terms with my own poor aim...are you ready to GIT GUD?

About MMG Smurf

Smurf is a Mei main with over 700 hours on Mei alone(last he looked). Other comfortable characters include: Lucio, Ana, Mercy, Symmetra, Orisa, Dva and Torb. Despite the rage that usually comes from being names Smurf and choosing to main Mei, Smurf is also often praised for his high game IQ with Mei and her abilities. If you're looking for a stream to learn Mei, this is it.
