It's Sunday, which means it's time for @moneymatchgaming's weekly online Super Smash Bros Tournament with $35 Prize Pool, Smash Weekly!
This is our 46th Smash Weekly(the number since we started counting) and our 12th Smash Weekly of 2018! As mentioned above, we've increased last years $20 Prize Pool to $35 reward to 1st -3rd place, as well as free sponsored money matches between competitors that don't place top 3.
We're happy to be a part of the Steem Block-chain on Steemit and Dlive where our contributions in the gaming community have enabled us to bring more rewards to our events, which has helped us to see an increase in talent at each event in 2018, and it's only building! :)
Top Tier Competitors Return to Smash Weekly
This week's tournament is sure to see a list of The world's best wifi warriors, as per usual, but we're also likely to be the host of some of Mexico's top Smash Bros Wii U players (online or off), with the likes of: Master Puffy, Yura, and hopefully Javi.
This week the MMG team put or DM game to the test, and were active connecting with top Smash Bros pros across the world to implement in our content, here on Steemit and our other social media channels. MMG has a goal in 2018 of not only becomming the destination for online tournaments and esports, but also to become the media hub of esports, bring the e-thletes to their fans like never before. We've been fortunate enough to host money of these players at our online events in the past, or players within their network, which is a connection that we will continue to foster.

About YURA
Yura is a 22 year old Corrine main from Mexico City, Mexico. He is seen as the best Corrine in Mexico. He plays for HydraTeam and is ranked 7th in the Mexico City Power Ranks. He is a powerful player making moves in brackets that keeps his name on the tongue of commentators. Yura has competed internationally since 2016 in tournaments in the USA, JAPAN, and Mexico. Yura has also placed first at MMG's Smash Weekly in early 2017.
About MASTER PUFFY
MASTER PUFFY (or just Puffy) is a Jigglypuff main from Colima, Mexico. He is considered to be the best Jigglypuff player in Mexico. Master Puffy is known for being a "Wi-Fi Warrior" (our type of guy, here at MMG) and was highly ranked on Anthers Ladder in 2016 and is the only Jigglypuff player to ever reach the Master Rank in Anther's Ladder. While most of Puffy's success has been online, he has recently begun to fight at offline events as well with he most notable placements being 13th at Smash Factor Prelude 1 and 17th at Smash Fest 3. He has taken sets from notable Smash Bros players, such as: Richi, Yura, Reflet and Dano, as well as coming in 1st at Smash Weekly 44 over Jade.
About JAVI
Javi is a Sheik and Cloud main from Mexico City, Mexico. He is an e-athlete for HydaTeam and is considered to be on one of Mexico's best Super Smash Bros players, period. He has wins over top Smash Bros players like: MkLeo(world's current best), Larry Lurr, Mistake, Ally, Cosmos, CaptainZack, Marss, and Falln. Javi is currently ranked 2nd on Mexico City Power Rankings and has previous rankings of 6.5 in the SoCal Smash 4 Power Rankings 44th on the Panda Global Rankings. Javi has also placed 5th at an MMG Smash Weekly event in early 2017.
Free - to - Play | Powered by Steem | 3 Event Rule
Join or live stream on either DLive or Twitch, and type "!sign-up" in the chat for a link to signup for today's free to play event. Today's event is free to play for anyone that has not already competed in 3 MMG events this year. After completing in 3 events a player must either create a steemit account and upvote MMG's event post related to the event, or make a donation of any amount to the stream(yes, it can be one penny, just support the community), or sub to MMG on Twitch.tv. Players that do not do one of the options mentioned above by their 4th event will be placed on probation. Players place on probation may still compete, but are subject to 50% of their winnings unless they: register for a steemit account, make a donation to MMG, or sub to MMG on Twitch.tv before the event. Failing to do so before the event will result in a 50% decrease in a players prize for that event(players may void this by registering for steemit after the event and showing proof).
MMG's Monero Funding Project
UPDATES: This week MMG is testing out a Monero Project on the bracket page of our website. We are looking for ways to keep events free while increasing the prize pool, and after going through the website stats of last week's event we found a total of over 24,000 page views...that's a lot. So, we're testing. We will not put your computer/cellphone at risk, and the script will be turned to a very low hashrate as not to bother users experience. While we do not foresee and issues with today's implementation we ask that you please provide feedback to MMG admins either here on steemit or via MMG's discord(link at the bottom of the screen).
Our best case scenario would be that the Monero is so successful we can use it as a redirect screen during the signup process and that be a users pay for the event. This would take no longer than 30 seconds and allow users to contribute to the MMG community at the cost of a small amount of electricity. We're excited about this update, and we hope you are too.
