I think the battle between longs and shorts will continue for some time as a base is created in the altcoins as I think they still need to find their intrinsic value. However, the fact that Bitcoin has held on to these price levels and increased its dominance demonstrates that demand and supply are somewhat balanced from $6k-$7k. While the traders can take advantage of these shifts in range, they will become less successful in the longer run as supply will become a constraint.
