joining steemit...

I think it was because I heard that steemit was where people were making $100 per post that I finally decided to give steemit a chance. I didn't plan to spend a lot of time or effort into steemit, but that was before I started to understand what steemit is and how important it can be.
writing...

I really enjoy to write, and I find that there isn't anything that I am not able to say when I am writing. I say what is on my mind. Writing is another part of the reason why I wanted to be apart of steemit, I thought it would be easy to come on here with and with a couple of detailed posts I would be making at least $20 every post. It was not that simple and I soon find out.
community...

Nobody can make it anywhere by themselves, which is true in some ways. Whether it is from the people you support or the people that support you, help is always needed. Building communities on steemit is something that I have also learned about, what I think is that through communities is how steemit will stay strong. Another big part of steemit community is followers. Followers are important because they show they support you and want to help you by upvoting your posts and probably willl probably participate in your contests as well (@karensuestudios).
rewards...

Getting what you deserve isn't always the best way to describe what it is like posting on steemit. I never have known of a social media site that pays to participate, which is going to be the why a lot of people join steemit, however realizing that not getting paid for a post is more common than uncommon is going to be a reason why a lot of people decide to leave steemit as well. I guess you can't expect it to be easy because if it were then everyone would have a huge stake in steem and that is not how things work. It takes balance to build something like a social platform that pays and balance is something that is lacking in the community as of late. If I could draw it out, there would definitely be one side with a huge advantage...
contribution...

Which is why if I were to use 700SP for good it would be for writing helpful posts and upvoting user who do not have a big following and are finding it hard to get attention on steemit.
I know what it feels like to have nothing given to you for something you've done where you put effort into it and you are trying to do something good for yourself and for others.
That is why if I had 700SP delegated to my steemit account I would use it 50/50 to upvote posts that I have read and I feel like deserve some attention, and the other 50 to give my posts some attention as well.
Being apart of steemit is a great oppurtunity and all I want to see is the wealth distribution change and some light shed on the other side which is struggling to be seen.
Special thanks to @karensuestudios for inspiring this post. Her contest https://steemit.com/dlive/@karensuestudios/17a2aa60-1f19-11e8-9a6b-79235098eecc.
